About weddings
1. We are having a party, but it's not in Montreal. Can we still book you?Yes. We travel regularly to Vaudreuil, Rigaud, Jean-sur-Richelieu, Ste-Hyacinthe Saint-Sauveur, Mont-Tremblant and have been as far as Montebello. Reasonable travel rates apply to locations further than 20km from the downtown core. The travel rates are based on one vehicle travelling to the said location.
2. What happens if my wedding ceremony takes place in one location and the reception in another? The time spent travelling from one site to another site still counts as working time for our musicians, and as such, is considered part of the booked time.
3. What venues in Montreal and surrounding regions have you played at?Here is a list of venues, just to name a few, that we have played at: Mount-Stephen's Club, The Montreal Athletic Club, The Ritz Carlton, Auberge le St-Gabriel, Château Ramesay, The Contemporary Arts Museum, Hotel le Saint-Sulpice, Hostellerie Pierre du Calvet, Hotel le Nelligan, the Forest and Stream Club, The Beaconsfield Golf Club, St-Rafael Golf Club, the Royal Golf Club, Château Vaudreuil, Mont-Tremblant Resort, Château Montebello, L'Auberge des Gallants, Le Vieux Kitzbuhel, Le Manoir Rouville-Campbell, , the Galt Estate, The Hillsdale Golf and Country Club, Le Vogue, Le Château Royale, L' Auberge West Brome Spa to name a few. 4. How far in advance should I call you to book musicians for my event? You can book your ensemble as early as one year in advance and as late as one day before the event provided that the musicians are available on the requested date. It goes without saying that the earlier you book the better chances that Musicplanners.com will have a group available to play for your event.
5. Will I be meeting with any musician to select my music?Once a contract has been confirmed, the lead member of the ensemble will be in touch with you to discuss the details of your event. Very often this will happen by email or over the phone. However, our wedding clients sometimes feel more comfortable with a face-to-face meeting to organize the music for their ceremony.
6. Do you perform all types of wedding services? At Musicplanners.com, we will perform weddings of any faith, alternative weddings and other commitment ceremonies.
7. Will I be required to provide meals for the musicians? As a common courtesy, you are only required to provide the musicians a meal when the event exceeds four hours through either the lunch or the supper period. A light meal is always appreciated and from experience, most caterers are only too kind to set something aside for the musicians. To minimize interruptions, musicians will always plan their supper break around a room change or a speech intermission.
8. Can the musicians perform outdoors? Most of the time. The musicians are able to perform outdoors when the weather conditions are ideal. Musicians must be at all times protected from the ultra-violet rays by either playing under the shade of a tree, a parasol or a gazebo. If the forecast announces rain, the musicians will NOT play outdoors even if there is a only a slight chance of precipitation. Their valuable instruments are extremely vulnerable to water, windy conditions or exposure to direct sunlight. We always recommend that a backup plan for outdoor events be made in case the weather conditions change unexpectedly. Most reception halls will offer you an alternate solution in the event that the venue has to be moved indoors.
9. Can I book more than one group for my event?Absolutely! At Musicplanners.com, we have ensembles to suit every segment of your event. So, if you desire a classical trio for your wedding ceremony and a jazz combo for your reception, we are only too pleased to serve you.
10. Where can I hear sample clips of your music? You can hear samples by browsing through our 'Listen' menu and clicking on one of many choices of music styles offered by Musicplanners.com. |
